PLAY was a prominent UK-based magazine dedicated to Sony's PlayStation consoles, offering comprehensive coverage of games, news, and industry insights. Launched in 1995 by Imagine Publishing, it became the UK's longest-running PlayStation magazine. In April 2016, after 269 issues, PLAY ceased its print publication and briefly transitioned to a digital-only format.
In May 2021, Future plc revived the PLAY brand, replacing the Official PlayStation Magazine UK. The relaunch featured a new editorial team and a refreshed focus on PlayStation content. However, in October 2024, Future plc announced the magazine's closure, marking the end of its 29-year legacy.
